But Is This Perception Correct?
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Malachi 3:15
But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly evildoers prosper, and even when they put God to the test, they get away with it.
O-bservation:
Literally as Malachi finishes this prophecy, a period of heavenly silence commences. It will be 400 years before God speaks to humankind again at the first coming of Jesus, God’s Son, to the earth.
A-pplication:
Earlier in this same chapter, the Lord had let Israel know how it could turn things around and start winning again. But, it was too late. Israel had already bought the lie that arrogant people were actually blessed. They definitely believed people who did evil actually prospered as a result of their misdeeds. They even believed that you could put God to the test and get away with it. “But Is This Perception Correct?” It’s true that it may seem that way, but at the most folks will only be around for about 80 years then someone else will decide. The truth is that “Perception” may be true for the one perceiving, but it doesn’t prove it’s correct. The God we serve has and will live forever, and He has established truth for all the world forever. It’s better to stick with God than have our own perceptions fail us in the end.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This passage made me aware again this AM that You are truly the King eternal. I’ll go with Your truth over my incorrect perceptions until You call me home. Amen
