Big Picture FAITH

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 10:2

He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land.

O-bservation:

As was stated before in this daily post, John the Beloved had a vision of the future while on the Isle of Patmos. One of the dreamlike figures he saw was that of a huge angel. This massive angel put one of his feet on the ocean and the other foot on the land and raised his hand toward heaven and spoke.

A-pplication:

Nowhere in this vision did John ever see God. But an angel of this proportion certainly represents John’s vision of just how big and vast his God is. How big is your God? I believe our vision of our great and loving Savior, and how big or small we see Him, will determine just how big our FAITH is. John had been boiled in oil for his FAITH and came out alive. The Roman authorities couldn’t seem to keep him quiet, and so sent him to Patmos. While there he saw the vision we call “The Revelation.” Everything in it is BIG. Why? I believe John had a huge view of his God. We are facing troubling times in the Christian world. For some, a life of tribulation has already begun. For others, life is so comfortable that apathy is knocking at the door. It’s time for a renewed vision of our great God! It’s time for “Big Picture FAITH!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I need to do more than just sing about how great you are today. I need a renewed vision so that my dreams are bigger than ever! Amen
