An Offering Opens The Door

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 96:8
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.
O-bservation:
The word glory means to magnify or make bigger. In this passage, the Psalmist tells us to approach our great God with everything possible in us that will make Jesus bigger, or more well known, on OUR watch! Then he said to bring an offering to the Lord and enter immediately into His courts. The courts represent the very place where the presence of God resides.
A-pplication:
Solomon said, “A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great!” (Prov. 18:16). Wow! I’ve always loved that passage, and it has proved true in my life over and over. However, way beyond a president or a king, I’m much more interested in being ushered into the presence of the “King of Kings.” So many find a way to escape being generous when it comes to giving to the Lord, but I can tell you some of the finest and most humble believers I’ve ever met are also the most generous. There’s something about generosity and connections to bigger things and influential people that goes hand in hand. I’m happy to give to my Lord because I love hanging out with my Father. He is the King of Kings.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know everything I’ve been given has come from You. I’m happy and blessed to pass it around to others, beginning first with You. Amen
