Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Kings 12:15
They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty.
O-bservation:
This is a recounting of the story of King Joash and his desire to repair the Temple of the Lord. The men receiving the money to do the repairs were not required to account for the money they received, because they acted with COMPLETE HONESTY.
A-pplication:
Joash was only seven years old when he began to reign in Judah. His father, Ahaziah, was wicked, as was his grandmother Athaliah. When she found out that Jehu, God’s servant, had killed her son, she had all the Royal princes killed except her grandson Joash, who was but a baby. She did this in order to secure her own rule in Judah. A nurse escaped with Joash in hand and held him in the Temple until he was 7. When men of God finally dispensed with the wicked Athaliah, her seven-year-old grandson’s first order was to repair the temple of the Lord. The people were so overcome with repentance and love for the Lord that they did the work because they had, “An HONEST Love For God’s House.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Please help me love Your house, even more than my own. Amen
