Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
King David had been in many dangerous settings where it appeared he would never escape the odds. It was in those times that he devoured the thought and personhood of the Lord. In time he developed “An Acquired Taste” for Jesus. In this passage, he challenges all of us to join him.
Recently, toward the end of one of our daily work days at the office, one of our leaders brought in a big box filled with tinier boxes of chilled, what looked to be powdered pink muffins. Everyone looked in the boxes and the leader said, “Try one.” Everyone was apprehensive, but not me. I grabbed one, took a bite, and boom! Of course I sold the others on trying one!!! Then they all wanted another one. We found out they were Japanese Mochi ice cream puffs. It’s not like something you’ve ever tasted before. Once you try them, you acquire a taste for them. To me, that’s what David is challenging us to right here. C’mon, taste and see that the Lord is good! Once you experience Jesus for yourself, you can never get enough of this relationship. You develop “An Acquired Taste” for Jesus.
I don’t even have to try to acquire a taste for You. You’ve been my help for so many years, I don’t want to even count the years anymore. I’ve tasted and seen that the Lord is GOOD! Amen
