Always Take Care Of Those Who Pastor Among Us

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 12:19

Be careful not to neglect the Levites as long as you live in your land.

O-bservation:

In this great speech before the people of Israel, Moses reminded them that it was their responsibility to take care of the Levites as long as they lived in their land.

A-pplication:

In the Old Testament, the Levites were the tribe that represented the ministry. If you were born a Levite you would spiritually serve the nation of Israel in some capacity. The Levites were not allowed to OWN property. The Lord told the people that it was their responsibility to take care of their ministers. In like manner, the writers of the New Testament admonish the Christian to take care of the ministers who labor among them. This has nothing to do with the way we feel toward them, this is the Lord’s directive. Should a minister step out of line in some manner, the Lord will correct that person. That is not our responsibility as individuals. What is our responsibility it that we would “Always Take Care Of Those Who Pastor Among Us.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m so very thankful for all of the wonderful Spiritual Shepherds You have brought through my life. In so many ways they have blessed and nurtured me closer to You. Amen
