A Need For Knowledge

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Hosea 4:6a

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests.

The Lord spoke through the prophet Hosea against the priests of Israel. He told them that because of them holding back the truth, Israel, God’s chosen people, were being destroyed because of a lack of knowledge.

One of St. Paul’s forthright directives to his understudy Timothy was to, “Do Your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). Leaders of God’s sheep must be diligent to know the truth so they can deliver the truth in the best and worst of times and then live the truth. We are living in an age of “TRUTH,” having been turned by society into a moving target. It’s openly taught in most schools and universities that there are no ABSOLUTES. When Christian leaders fail to take a stand, they in turn hold back KNOWLEDGE from people who hoped to at least be able to trust their church. God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” In this text, it was the priests of God’s sheep who were holding it back. Today, we are in a similar state where there is “A Need For Knowledge!”

Dear Jesus,

With Your help I will deliver the knowledge I’ve learned from Your Word. So help me God. Amen
