Stay Close To Your Stronghold

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Samuel 24:22

So David gave his oath to Saul. Then Saul returned home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.

O-bservation:

King Saul was out to kill David. David was on the run with a group of men who were following him. On one such occasion, as they were running from the King, David found Saul in a cave and could have killed him but he didn’t. When he let the King know later, the King repented and said when you become King promise not to harm my children. David promised. The King went back to his castle, and David to his Stronghold.

A-pplication:

While on the run, David and his men had created a Stronghold. It was their place for Strategic Planning, prayer, praise, and safety. It was a place surrounded by friends and perhaps family. When the King went back to Jerusalem, David and his men didn’t go. Jerusalem at that time was not their Stronghold. Instead they went back to the Stronghold they had created. No matter how big or small, known or not known your Stronghold is, it’s YOUR Stronghold. That’s your place for friends, family, prayer, praise, safety, and Strategic Planning. Whatever you do, “Stay Close To Your Stronghold.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You that in my own small way You have helped me build a Stronghold. With Your help I’ll “Stay Close” to what You have given me. Amen
